Who?

Bad Cow is run by Carl Perkins, with support from the guys at the farm. I'm a private guitar tutor on the island and have played guitar in several bands over the years, including Hightown Crow, Driver, Alpha/Sigma Project, Silver and also for Staff Brett, including several festival performances and also live sound duties on the second stage at Guilfest. I've always been interested in recording, originally using two tape decks, then a cassette four-track, then digital eight-track and finally onto computer music. I gained a lot of technical knowledge and recording experience whilst working at Pete Downing's "Auckland" studio, and also through the production of original albums with Staff Brett and with my own solo ventures.

My taste in music is vast; great musicianship/songwriting is most important! I like big production as much as the most simple, intimate (mono?!) recordings. Sun records stuff still sounds great, also Beatles crazy stereo mixes, and for me a Butch Vig drum sound is always something to aim for!
