£22/hour basic rate.
£75/half day (four hours)
£120/£130 a day respectively for Pro Tools/ tape recording.
For location recording add £10.
Price includes engineer, friendly advice/suggestions (if you want it!) and also if you wish, guitar/bass/drums etc. performance. Mixing is charged at the same rates.
An album price can be negotiated, as there are several factors that affect the total cost. A four piece band could record eight songs a day, live, depending on how well rehearsed they are. This is generally unrealistic, however.
Roughly, £1000 would get two weeks of involvement from Bad Cow, including production suggestions and mixing. Record company advances of £5000 and upwards will secure undivided attention for the duration of the project, for up to around six weeks of work.
Materials
A reel of tape costs £50, giving about 30 minutes recording time. We can provide one tape for recording; if you want to keep the master tracks then you will either need to purchase your own tape in advance of the session, (We can order it for you) or pay £50 to keep the one we provide.
