Bad Cow Studios offer a professional analogue and digital recording experience in the idyllic grounds of Froglands Farm, near Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight. All types of music welcome, and no previous recording experience is required. Contractual work can also be undertaken, including full album projects, which can include luxury accommodation on the farm. The studio offers analogue recording, via 1/2'' reel to reel tape, and also has a dedicated Carillon music computer. An impressive array of hardware, including a lovely-sounding Soundtracs mixing desk, a large collection of well respected microphones, and some carefully selected valve and solid-state outboard equipment complete the package. There is also ample parking space for several vehicles and easy access for equipment/wheelchairs etc.

The studio consists of four rooms; the Control room, approximately 14' x 14', where most of the recording equipment is housed, the main Live room, approximately 14' x 25' (extended), the Drum booth, approx. 9' x 9', and a small Vocal booth. There's also a kitchen, toilets and showeroom, Pool table, darts board and table tennis.

The Tascam 38 is an eight-track, 1/2 inch tape machine, that produces an extremely warm sound quality, particularly when used on vocals, acoustic guitar and drums. The signal/noise ratio is very good, aided significantly by two dedicated DBX noise reduction units. The machine at Bad Cow is in top condition and was recently used to re-mix old Duran Duran tracks!
